The largest of the pachycephalosaurs ("domed dinosaurs"), Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis had an extremely thick skullcap—up to 9 inches (23 centimeters) thick. Much of the skull, as well as the dinosaur's snout, was covered by small knobs.
