We are pleased to introduce NEW this year the National Geographic Trick-or-Treat for Big Cats School Challenge.
We officially challenge all schools, classrooms, students, and teachers around the nation to CAUSE AN UPROAR by working with students to collect coins for big cats! Along the way, you can not only engage students in an important service learning program but also educate them about the important role of big cats in the world today.
Participating schools and/or classrooms have an opportunity to experience enhanced educational activities including a chance to earn a school assembly with a big cats expert. The Trick-or-Treat for Big Cats School Challenge has three levels of thank-you gifts for coins submitted by November 30, 2012 (one gift per school):
• $250.00-$499.99: Explorer illuminated globe
• $500.00-$3,499.99: An NG wall-size map
• $3,500+: A school assembly featuring a visit from a big cats expert
All participating schools may download the Certificate of Appreciation and will have their names displayed on Cause An Uproar’s “Paw of Fame” page.
There are so many ways to participate—we encourage you to be creative! You can visit our website and print out cat costumes, carve big cat pumpkins, collect coins as you trick-or-treat in your neighborhood, set up a coin drop station in your school, have a Halloween parade or party, or maybe put on a Halloween bake sale.
Additional details can be found below and in the frequently asked questions section of the handbook.
Most important, don’t forget to ROAR!
